The Karuta team is pleased to announce a sandbox template portfolio in line with the Value Rubics developped by the Association of American Colleges & Universities.
VALUE rubrics or scoring guides provide needed tools to assess students’ own authentic work, produced across their diverse learning progressions and institutions, to determine whether and how well students are meeting graduation level achievement in learning outcomes that both employers and faculty consider essential. The VALUE rubrics include Inquiry and Analysis, Critical Thinking, Creative Thinking, Written Communication, Oral Communication, Quantitative Literacy, Information Literacy, Reading, Teamwork, Problem Solving, Civic Knowledge and Engagement – Local and Global, Intercultural Knowledge and Competence, Ethical Reasoning and Action, Global Learning, Foundations and Skills for Lifelong Learning, and Integrative Learning.
- In this portfolio, students are able to post artefacts (files, images, urls) to document their progression on the different learning outcomes listed above. They are also invited to reflect on their progress. Students have also access to comprenhensive dashboards that summarize their results, list the artefacts submitted, provide a summary of all the comments made by their instructor.
- Instructors can grade the students by clicking the appropriate cell on a rubric matrix. They can also post comments. Instructors (or administrators) have access to a special Admin Report portfolio where all the students results are presented. These results can be downloaded via a CSV file for further analysis in Excel.
The sandbox is available at eportfolium.com/karuta with users ID/password aacu-student1/karuta, aacu-student2/karuta and aacu-instructor/karuta.
